For convenience, tonight the group will stay at the only hotel inside the airport so that you don’t have to deal with Lima traffic. Depending on the time you arrive, it might be a good time to have a “meet and greet” or we will do that in Cusco. Get a good night’s rest and we will be back to assist you in the morning to assure a seamless transition for your flight to Cusco. Your body needs to be well rested in order to acclimate to the thinner air of the majestic Andes Mountains.

We will inform you about Andean agricultural history as well other interesting facts. We have not structured any definite tours but we do plan to have a few short, interesting stops along the way. Today is the day we prefer to take it easy as you are over 10,000 feet above sea level. That also means lighter food because the altitude slows digestion and the introduction of Coca Tea*. We will stop at a favorite eatery in the Sacred Valley for a light lunch but will relax at the hotel for the rest of the day and let the body acclimate.

After lunch, handcraft your own chocolate and/or coffee the traditional Andean way.  Marita calls this “from bean to delicious”.  These are not store-bought coffee & cacao beans – they come from Pablo’s own organic plantations in the jungle. Spending the day here is a true highlight of your time in the heavenly Sacred Valley. This is an exclusive private property that only privileged guests have access to.
